What is AGI and how do I find it?

AGI stands for Adjusted Gross Income. When you e-file your taxes, you must provide the AGI you reported on last year's (2022) tax return to prove your tax identity. This serves as a security measure against tax identity theft.

If you filed a tax return last year, you should be able to find your AGI on Line 11 of your tax return.

If you cannot find a copy of your tax return from last year, you should try to get a copy. You can request a copy from the person, organization or software that helped you file the tax return.

If you cannot get a copy of your tax return from any of the above, then you can try getting a copy from the IRS. You can request a Tax Return Transcript from the IRS here

If you did NOT file a tax return last year, you should enter $0 as your AGI for 2022.
