Am I a nonfiler?
The term "non-filer" is sometimes used to refer to people who are not required to file a tax return. Or, someone who hasn't filed a tax return in the past few years.
"Non-filer" is not a legal category—anyone can and should file a return to claim the tax benefits available. Even if you aren't required to file, doing so can get you access to thousands of dollars in tax benefits. You could get the Child Tax Credit, Recovery Rebate Credit or Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
